This instrument, called the viola organista, was designed by
Leonardo da Vinci hundreds of years ago. Only now has one been constructed and played. This instrument has some characteristics of the harpsichord and organ, but has the sound of a viola. What if this instrument had caught on when da Vinci had designed it?

Think of how different music would be now. This instrument could well have become a part of classical orchestras and changed renaissance music. This just goes to show: you should not be afraid to try new things, to innovate, to be a trailblazer. You could end up creating an amazing new instrument such as this.

However, this also communicates another lesson: old ideas can still be good ideas. It can sometimes be a good idea to reconsider previously rejected ideas. Even though this instrument was designed hundreds of years ago, it is still innovative and beautiful sounding.
